There is a foundation in people's lives that all people share. It is the semantic assignment of terms that is the same everywhere. Man learns the meaning of words from childhood in order to find his way in the world at all.
Even if the languages are very different and for example the Eskimos in their language have far more differentiating terms for snow than the rest of the world, the basic things are axiomatic in nature. They are as they are, and their meaning cannot be broken down any further.
Let's take care of the word "almighty. At Wikipedia we read:
This is a rather thin explanation. It seems to consciously avoid the term "God". But every Christian and sometimes even one or the other atheist knows that God is omnipotent (if he exists).
This sentence is synonymous with the statement: "I am God!" But the Jehovah's Witnesses say Jesus is only an angel. How can this be agreed?
The Watchtower Society has a fundamental interest in making Jesus appear as a kind of marginal figure to add their own factors that people supposedly need to fulfill to enter the Kingdom of Jehovah. Once the good news of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ actually works out of Jesus himself, the raison d'être, the meaning of the Watchtower Society, is zero. Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ from Himself is thus the worst thorn in the side of the Watchtower Society. It must somehow manage to strip Jesus of his glory to such an extent that only a small functionary remains of him, who is then only indirectly present as an important ingredient in the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Although he (currently) remains in the Watchtower Society's toolbox as a prerequisite for rescue, he is no longer responsible for the entire oeuvre. For the Watchtower Society has dared to take on a kind of mediating role alongside him. While the Bible says that apart from Jesus there is no mediator between God and man, the Watchtower scribes proclaim the message that salvation can only be achieved by using the "Watchtower prefix".
To fill this teaching with meaning, they must make Jesus a minor figure that is ineffective without the teaching of Jehovah's Witnesses. This disparagement of the saving Jesus must consequently have the consequence that he cannot be omnipotent. For if what he claims about himself is true, the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses have taken their last breath and must reveal themselves to be one of the boldest attempts of Satan to distract people from Jesus.
Do we now want to approach the matter with faith and an honest heart, or do we want to make clever turns and twists to remove Jesus from his almighty position? The latter is what Jehovah's Witnesses do. Many of them do not even know the background and believe in all seriousness that they are the most faithful disciples and that they are the only ones who recognize Jesus correctly.
But the Watchtower Society certainly says that Jesus did not mean it that way. I see. He says something and means it as the Watchtower Society wants it to be understood centuries later. Oh so. That is of course something else.
Then nothing is right any more in the Bible and you have to let the Watchtower Society explain every little thing to you. If such clear things can only be understood correctly by the Watchtower Society, then we can no longer trust our own eyes! Then our brain is worthless and we have to have it replaced by the Watchtower Society. Brainwashing.
If even the most obvious clarity is supposedly wrong, then the Watchtower Society must possess a very special "holy spirit".
I have always assumed that Jesus' words can be trusted. How do you feel about that?
I found something else that I like very much and maybe other people too, so I write it here.
You call me light and do not see me.
You call me way and do not walk it.
You call me life and do not desire it.
You call me Master and do not believe me.
You call me Wisdom and do not question me.
You call me Lord and do not serve me.
You call me Almighty and do not trust me,
and if one day I do not know you, do not be surprised.
